Nawaz Sharif has Decided not to Succumb to Pressure Exerted by (PTI) and (PAT)

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has decided not to succumb to pressure exerted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to make him step down from his post, Geo News reported late on Tuesday. Presiding over a high-level meet at the Prime Minister House, Sharif said the doors to dialogue would be kept open but he would not resign from his post, sources said. The meeting agreed to speedup the process of establishing contacts with political forces, sources added. Cricketer turned politician Imaran Khan, the PTI chief, has claimed that the 2013 elections were rigged and that Sharif has a "fake mandate". Meanwhile, as a protest march continued in Pakistan, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday announced the army has been entrusted with the responsibility of securing Islamabad's sensitive Red Zone area. The move came as protesters from Imran Khan's PTI and the PAT persisted with their threat to march to Constitution Avenue in the federal capital city, a Dawn report said.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri said in his address to the ‘revolution march’ participants that the justice and revenge of martyrs of Model Town tragedy warrants ‘revolution’, Dunya News reported.
Presenting his ‘charter of demands/revolution’, he demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to step down immediately. He demanded law enforcement to take them into custody and try them as per the law and charges.
He demanded Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to put Sharif brothers on Exit Control List (ECL).
Following is the ‘charter of demands’ presented by Qadri
  1. PM, CM Punjab step down immediately, their government must be overthrown and they must be arrested as per the court of justice.
  2. National Assembly, provincial assemblies must be dissolved because ‘this is unconstitutional,’ citing Article 62 of the constitution. 2/3 members are tax evaders and thieves.
  3. Formation of ‘national government for democratic reforms’ after dissolution of assemblies, this government should be formed with consensus.
  4. Every leader, technocrat, bureaucrat, and public office holder must be put to the accountability by this new government.
  5. The poor of this country should be given 10-point socio-economic package to alleviate poverty

PM Must Resign, Imran Khan presents 06 Demands for Negotiations

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said that PTI’s first and foremost condition for negotiation is Prime Minister’s resignation, Dunya News reported. PTI chief presented a number of demands saying his committee is ready to negotiate on the following conditions.
  1. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif must resign
  2. Immediate electoral reforms
  3. Reelection must take place after reforms
  4. Neutral caretaker government, not the one that inflicts ‘35 punctures’
  5. Resignation of all the election commissioners that managed the previous election.
  6. Accountability of those who ‘colluded’ with Prime Minister for election rigging, must be imprisoned and tried under Article 6.
“Our committee is ready to negotiate, but I repeat, there’s no need to talk until Nawaz Sharif resigns because Nawaz Sharif ‘colluded’ with Election Commission for rigging. If Nawaz Sharif doesn’t resign, how will independent accountability take place?” Khan said. According to Dunya News sources, a negotiation committee comprising Javed Hashmi, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Jahangir Tareen and Arif Alvi was formed. Qureshi is reportedly leading this committee. Earlier, Imran ‎Khan while taking to Dunya news said that ‘we cannot think of alternate ways except ‎for PM Nawaz Sharif’s resignation’, adding that he will not be able to give any ‎deadline but will soon join the negotiation table.‎ He further said that he is a political leader and he would tell his party workers ‎about how a negotiation is reached, which applies equally to both parties.‎ ‎“Right now we are not going to give any deadline to the public but the time has ‎come to join the negotiation table”, Khan said. Earlier, while talking to media Khan said that he had full faith in the judiciary ‎of Pakistan, adding that only negotiation could determine who will be appointed ‎as the leader of the caretaker ‎government setup. ‎“After PM Nawaz’s resignation the table of negotiations can be set on the ‎guarantee of the Supreme Court”, said Imran Khan.‎ He further said that there is solid evidence against Nawaz Sharif allegedly proving him ‎responsible of ‘massive rigging’ in the 2013 general elections. Hundreds of ‎thousands of fake ballot papers were distributed to people. Those who carried ‎rigging in the 2013 general elections should be penalized according to article 6 of ‎the constitution, he demanded.
